The district of Bajura is in the Seti Zone of the Far Western Region which covers a total area of 2,021 km. To the south of the district are Accham and Kalikot, to the north Humla, and in the west Bajhang, and Mugu and Kalikot in the east. Martadi, the district headquarters, is accessible by road via Dhangadi to Safebagar by public transport, and then two days trekking. Most of the land in the district is without organic matter and is less fertile. The eastern and western areas of the district have high mountains, with small valleys and lower plains on the lower parts. Around 76% of the area lie at very high slopes of 300degrees, which is unsuitable for agriculture. Some parts of the district are suitable for multiple cultivations, while major parts are either rocks or forests. About 48.8% of land in Bajura is covered by forests. , Bajura is very famous as Badimalika, Nateswori, Kaptad National Park, Chhede Daha, Buddi Ganga, Malagad, Ekdigaad, Jethi Bahurani lekh, and Karnali river are all part of Bajura. Khaptad National Park: It is a Mid-Mountain National Park in Western region Nepal. According to an age-old story, Khaptad Swami had moved to this are to undergo meditation which makes this place even more prominent for people with a spiritual bent of mind. You should be carrying your own tents as there are no lodges here.
Badimalika: Badimalika is one of the new trekking trails identified and explored by Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal. Offering some of the best natural landscapes, the trail lies in Bajura district in the far-western region of Nepal. The main attraction of the trail is the temple of Badimalika which is located on top of a hillock 4,200 meters. The place wears a festive look during the Janai Purnima festival. More than thousands of people from different parts of the country, as well as neighboring India, visit the temple on this auspicious day. Bajura district is rich in terms of culture and tradition of local people. They perform different dances like Deuda, Hudkeuli, Bhuwo, and Thadi and more others.
