SARLAHI
Sarlahi is a district in the Terai in central Nepal. The district, with Malangwa as its district headquarters, covers an area of 1,259 km² and had a population of 769,729 (2011 census). The district is famous for its big agricultural production. Lalbandi is famous for supplying the whole country with tomatoes. Farhadwa, among others, is the village famous for fish production and export. The district, although less developed, has the basic facilities of accommodation, communication, transportation and health, and clinical services. Sarlahi district borders Rautahat to the west, Mahottari to the east, Sindhuli to the east and the state of Bihar to the south. The population mostly consists of Yadavs along with the Tharus and Danuwars being the indigenous and ethnic settlers of the district. Places worth visiting in Sarlahi are Tribhuvannagar, Malangawa, Belbas, Harpur, Rajawa Bazaar, Sundarpur Bazaar, Murtiya, Harion, Simara, and Nawalpur.
