The district of Saptari is a Terai in south-eastern Nepal. The district, with Rajbiraj as its district headquarters covers a region of 1,363 km² and contains a population (2011) of 639,284. This makes it among the highest 10 most populated districts in Nepal. Saptari district is thought for its agricultural efficiency, with the river Sapt Koshi flowing through it. Saptari is edged by India to the south, Siraha to the east, Udaypur to the north and Sunsari to the west. The inhabitants of Saptari are in the main Madhesis, Bhramans, Baniyas, Newars, and Muslims.

Kankalini Temple: Kankalini Temple is a temple dedicated to the deity Durga and situated in Bardah VDC.
