Rautahat District a part of Province No. 2, is one of the 77 districts of Nepal. The district headquarter is Gaur, including municipalities like Garuda, Chandrapur, covers an area of 1,126 km² and had a population of 686,722 in 2011. This district has 2 VDCs and 16 municipalities, Among that Rautahat has the largest percentage of Muslims in Nepal, about 19.465%. The historical temple of Goddess Durga is in one of the most developed VDC of rautahat district(Matsari). Matsari is known to be the only village of Narayani Zone to have 100% literacy rate Nunthar is a famous place for a picnic and there is a temple of Lord Shiva which is located in pauria Bagmati.
Places To Visit:
Shiv Mandir and RajDevi Mandir: This is a temple of Lord Shiva made up by Bidhyapatinagar Community. Next, to the temple, there is a pond which has a bridged temple of Sun in the center. Another temple is Rajdevi Temple which is located three km distance in the east of the city which is one of the ancient temples of the Rautahat district. It Was Built During Malla’s Period and it is about 400 years old.
